I’m Alexandra, nice to meet you!
I am a Mobile Bay area native and educator and I have been working with children for fifteen years. I am honored to be named 2021‘s “Best Preschool Teacher” as a Nappie winner and a 2022 Nappie finalist in the same category. Opening this Midtown play studio is a dream come true and I am excited to begin this new business for the Mobile community! After working with a nonprofit organization in Boston which helped Montessori teachers open small schools all over the country, I founded my own Montessori school in Providence, Rhode Island. My husband and I moved home to Mobile in 2019 with the hope of bringing a fresh perspective to the children’s “purposeful play” education movement. I am a certified Montessori teacher and children’s cookbook author with extensive school administrative experience but my passion is creating fun and BEAUTIFUL environments for children to play, explore and learn.
My family has been in the restaurant and catering business in Mobile for over 75 years and our love of hospitality and delicious food has led me to create a children’s cooking program like no other! I believe that children learn best when engaged in purposeful activities that help them develop independence and confidence. My love for children and my entrepreneurial spirit have led me to design BLOOM as a place where every detail has been created specifically for your child to thrive! I am looking forward to continuing the long-standing tradition of business in the Mobile community that the Roussos family has been proud to be a part of since the 1950’s by founding BLOOM. I can’t wait to help your children grow!
